REFLECTIONS

Everything we did on 11 tools was great for me. I have to say that I loved the entire process. I am looking forward to incorporating some of the cool things I learned into health fitness.

My thinking towards the learning that will take place in my class this upcoming year has transformed tremendously. There are so many exciting new experiences that will make health fitness such a blast.

There really wasn't any surprising or unexpected outcomes for me. With this new program I expected to learn a lot because I only knew a little, and that's exactly what happened .

Tool #11 Digital Citizenship

The three things i would definitely want my students to understand about Digital Citizenship would be...
1. safety
2. information privacy
3. respecting others

I would go about teaching the idea of Digital Citizenship by presenting the topic, stating it's importance, giving examples of how Digital Citizenship relates to what and how we should conduct ourselves in the real world, and having the students show by example rather it be on the computer or role playing how they would exercise Digital Citizenship.

Tool #10 Exploring mobile technology and apps

I just viewed all the wonderful apps. that are free from SBISD. One of my favorite games of all was on there, "Hang man." Thats a classic I tell you pure classic!

Tool #9 Sharing information Through Jing & Skype

Screen cast is basically a portal for all your information to be viewed all over the world.

Students can use jing to collaborate on a design project, share snapshot documents, narrate vacation photos, capture pesky bugs in action, and even show dad how to use itunes.

If I were to use skype with my students I would definitely enforce the idea of having them chat with others students from our very own school district.

Tool 8 " Video Resources"

Below this blog you will find two video resources that will aide in my approach to educating my classes this upcoming school year. The two videos have been pulled from Teacher tube and School tube, two wonderful sites that I feel every one from, parent's, teacher, student, and even pet's should be aware of at some point in their life. Video #1displays the alphabet in a sesame street, Spanish style version. While video #2 focuses on a great topic, "What is sportsmanship." Both videos will be instrumental to my Elementary Health Fitness classes. I can see the faces of my tiny Kindergartner's learning there ABC's,topped off with a Spanish twist from their very own sesame street character. Amazing right! In what better way to start off School Health fitness then by showing a video that characterises a defining importance for us all to know, " Sportsmanship."

Hola ninos, lets learn our Alphabets.

Tool #6

Students will benefit so much from wikis. Its possible that student could work on a major project by delegating who does what and who's bringing what without being in the same room.

I could see wiki's benefiting us as teachers a great deal aswell. How amazing would it be for a specific department or entire school faculty to edit, save, and link. It would really cut out some of the time we spend trying to email each other on something like , " What items each department will bring for our lovely faculty Thanksgiving feast."
